Business Delegation for Education Services in Indonesia 2026 Opens, Strengthening Thailand–Indonesia Education Cooperation

Jakarta, August 18th 2026 Thai Trade Center, under the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), Ministry of Commerce of Thailand, officially opened Business Delegation for Education Services in Indonesia 2026 at The Westin Jakarta on Tuesday (18/8). The exhibition takes place from 18–20 August 2026 and brings together 15 leading universities and educational institutions from Thailand.

The event was officially opened by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Indonesia, H.E. Mr. Prapan Disyatat, accompanied by Mrs. Hataichanok Sivara, Director of the Thai Trade Center Jakarta; and Mrs. Nassaree Pathan, Deputy Director of the Thai Trade Center Jakarta.

The event presents a strategic opportunity for Indonesia and Thailand to build closer partnerships through educational collaboration, student exchanges, and stronger institutional partnerships. This opportunity is supported by growing interest among Indonesians in international education and overseas study experiences, as well as Indonesia’s large working-age population and expanding middle class. The exhibition serves as a platform that brings together educational institutions, education agents, students, parents, and other stakeholders within a single ecosystem. It aims to foster meaningful partnerships, provide access to credible information, and broaden access to international education opportunities.

Director of the Thai Trade Center Jakarta, Mrs. Hataichanok Sivara, said, “Business Delegation for Education Services in Indonesia 2026 marks our third B2B engagement in Indonesia and, for the first time, brings a standalone Thai education exhibition to the country. This programme serves as a platform to connect educational institutions, education agents, and prospective students, while opening up more opportunities for collaboration and academic exchange between the two countries. We hope this initiative will expand access to quality education, encourage the development of sustainable partnerships, and further strengthen people-to-people relations between Thailand and Indonesia through education.”

Many Indonesian students choose to pursue higher education in Thailand due to its relatively affordable living costs and tuition fees, universities with internationally recognised programmes, and wide-ranging scholarship opportunities. In addition, Thailand’s relatively close proximity to Indonesia and the cultural similarities between the two countries can make the adjustment process easier for Indonesian students.

The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Indonesia, H.E. Mr. Prapan Disyatat, also expressed his enthusiasm for the exhibition, saying, “Thailand and Indonesia share a close friendship that has developed over several decades. Through the Business Delegation for Education Services in Indonesia 2026, we hope to encourage greater collaboration between educational institutions in Thailand and Indonesia, while providing more opportunities for Indonesian students to access quality education in Thailand. We believe that stronger educational cooperation will deliver long-term benefits for the people of both countries and further reinforce the bilateral relationship between Thailand and Indonesia.”

  1. Asian Institute of Hospitality Management (AIHM) – Hospitality Management, Hotel Operations, Tourism Education, and Industry-Based Learning.
