UBM Presents Food Ingredients Asia 2016 for the 4th edition in Indonesia


Jakarta, 21 September 2016 – Today, Minister of Industry of The Republic of Indonesia, represented by Director of Food Industry, Marine Product, and Fisheries, Ir. Abdul Rochim, MSi, officially inaugurates the leading food and beverages ingredients exhibitions Food Ingredients (Fi) Asia 2016 which held for the 4th edition, on 21-23 September 2016 at Jakarta International Expo – Kemayoran. Fi Asia 2016 is an opportunity for food and beverages ingredients industry players to both introduce their products and observe update informations from the industry itself.

Christopher Eve, Presiden Direktur PT UBM Pameran Niaga Indonesia, said, “Food and beverages market in ASEAN region continues to evolve, driven by population growth, rising incomes, changing lifestyle and consumer demands, including in Indonesia. UBM commitment is to showcase the best in the industry at Fi Asia 2016 by gathering leading manufacturers, suppliers, buyers, and other F&B industry professionals around the world.”

Food and beverages industry in Indonesia plays an important role in contributing economic growth in Indonesia. It is one of government’s priorities to endorse the industry as national economic highlight. F&B sector is also one of the high-growth industries, which contributes 31.20 percent of non-oil processing industry gross domestic product (GDP). F&B is also considered as the most prepared industry to face the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC). With a contribution of 40% of the market in ASEAN, Indonesia is a very important market.

Utilizing a 5 hall of exhibition area (Hall A1-A3 and Hall D1-D2), Fi Asia 2016 will attract 15,000 visitors to meet more than 650 suppliers from 50 countries and regions around the world. During 3 days of exhibitions, there are seminars and congress related to food and food ingredients industry themed “Food Innovations – ASEAN Economic Community Challenges” which highlight innovations in food processing, new approach on food safety and quality, trends and regulations, organized by the Indonesian Association of Food Technologists (IAFT/PATPI), Department of Food Science and Technology Bogor Agricultural University (DFST-IPB), and Southeast Asian Food and Agricultural Science and Technology (SEAFAST) Center-LPPM IPB.

Christopher Eve added, “We are committed to growing ASEAN F&B industry by featuring the latest ingredients and applications that can help industry professionals transform their products and process development. Our education program will provide opportunities to learn about the latest industry development, including products, market, and consumer trends to stay competitive.”

Fi Asia 2016 provides program to facilitate participants and visitors identifying elements needed to develop their business through Business Matching Service, Innovation Zone, Food Product Development Competition, and Innovation Tour. Visitors also will find A to Z of food ingredients category such as cereal products, colourants, dairy product, emulsifier, flavouring, sweeteners, vitamins, and many more.
