Mayapada Healthcare and GE Healthcare Sign Collaboration Agreement to Build Sustainable Healthcare Infrastructure in Indonesia

Jakarta, 24 August 2018 – Mayapada Healthcare and GE Healthcare today signed a Collaboration Agreement to support Mayapada Healthcare in the expansion of their network of hospitals across Indonesia. The Agreement was signed by Deputy Chairman Mayapada Group, Jonathan Tahir and President & CEO of GE Healthcare ASEAN, Korea & ANZ, Myra Eskes.

Over the next three years, GE Healthcare will provide its latest technology and solutions to Mayapada Healthcare’s six upcoming hospitals, as well as offer strategic expertise on effectively building clinical and technical capacity, on hospital and workflow design, and lifecycle management. The hospitals, due to be located in South Jakarta, Bandung, Central Jakarta (Kuningan area), Surabaya, Bogor, and Cakung are part of Mayapada Healthcare’s vision to be the leading healthcare provider in Indonesia.

The Indonesian government is striving to improve healthcare services by ensuring that every citizen is part of the JKN-KIS membership while improving the number and the quality of medical facilities in healthcare services. Currently, there are 198.8 million people registered as members of the JKN-KIS, which covers 80% of the whole Indonesian population.[1] The government positively welcomes hospitals capable of providing healthcare services to JKN-KIS members. This is an effort to improve healthcare service standards and significantly contribute to the advancement of the overall national healthcare system.
