Brewin Invests Rp1.3 Trillion at Alam Sutera

Jakarta, INDONESIA, 30 March 2016 – There is expected to be an increased demand for apartments in satellite cities near Jakarta, such as Serpong, Bintaro, Depok and Bekasi in 2016, as economic conditions improve from a slow 2015, on the back of increased government spending and stronger sentiments. Currently, numerous apartment projects are being developed in those areas. PT Brewin Mesa Development, a newly established Singapore based real estate investment and development company, sees the huge potential in Indonesia’s property industry and enters the market with an apartment project worth Rp. 1.3 trillion at Alam Sutera.
Brewin Mesa’s first project is a high-rise apartment located at Alam Sutera with a total construction floor area of 85,000 sqm comprising two 38 storey towers with 496 units. The project will target aspiring yuppies and professionals, newlyweds and young families, and positioned at the high-end segment of the Alam Sutera sub-market. The project will be soft launched in the first half of 2016, with construction commencing shortly after.
With its heritage firmly rooted in real estate development, Brewin Mesa intends to raise the standard of real estate development by building best-in-class, well designed, well-built, sustainable, and relevant projects that will enrich the lives of Indonesians. Projects will integrate the latest international development concepts with local tastes, traditions and requirements. At the core of its Mission, Brewin Mesa strives to create a memorable and relevant landmark that inspires urban growth, beautify Indonesian cities and improve living standards of Indonesian citizens.
“Our company is committed to the Indonesian market for the long term. Indonesia has a huge market supported by a young and large population. At the same time, there is an opportunity for us to differentiate ourselves by offering our buyers a better product – well designed, functional and well-built buildings,” said Bill Cheng, Brewin Mesa’s President Director.
Mr Cheng added: “We have been monitoring the property market in Indonesia for quite a while now. In recent years, we saw a significant and continuous increase in demand from all segments of the residential market, from the mid-end to the high-end of the market. The market took a breather last year, which I feel is a healthy as large price increases is unsustainable. Looking forward into 2016 and 2017, we are excited that the market continues its upwards trend. We are also very excited and optimistic for our first project in Indonesia which will demonstrate our ability to provide high quality and innovative development for our customers.”
“Alam Sutera is an attractive location with a green, clean and sustainable environment and an efficient toll access to the CBD and Airport. The township also offers a range of educational facilities, malls, food and entertainment centers and other amenities which are conveniently close by to residents who live in a safe and secure location. We are confident that Alam Sutera is one of the best satellite cities near Jakarta catering to our target market,” he added.
Brewin Mesa is a joint venture between the two families which controls Singapore’s Wing Tai Asia and Pontiac Land – both companies are well-known for their distinctive and high quality developments with over 100 years of combined experience in the industry. Drawing from the deep experience of its owners operating in competitive markets in the region, Brewin Mesa believes it is best positioned to build projects in Indonesia that will be recognized for their distinction and for their unparalleled quality.
